On 10th October a GNR patrol from Faro arrested a 36 year old Portuguese male who had carried out a theft by carjacking in the early hours of the morning.
During the incident the culprit had in his possession a firearm. Following a report made to the city PSP police, information was exchanged with GNR Faro who located the stolen vehicle in the outskirts of Faro.
After the culprit parked the car the GNR patrol approached it and arrested the driver. The firearm was found in the vehicle.
The arrested person who is now under detention has a previous record for theft, drug trafficking and attempted homicide and has already served time in prison and was on parole.
