Military of the Territorial Command of Madeira seized yesterday, January 9, about 24 kilos of cocaine, onn the Ribeiro Salgado Beach – Porto Santo.
As part of a surveillance operation in the Territorial Sea of the island of Porto Santo, the military detected the narcotic product near the sea coast, and seized 23,881 grams of cocaine, equivalent to 119,405 doses.
According to the GNR, this is highly unlikely that the drugs were destined for Madeira. They were likely deposited by traffickers because they feared they would be apprehended, and were destined elsewhere.
