PORTUGUESE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE NOW INTRODUCES MENTAL HEALTH INFORMATION AND ADVICE ON LINE
At a time when Mental Health assumes special relevance in the overall well-being of the population and communities, the National Program for Mental Health under the Ministry of Health offered from yesterday, a microsite dedicated to the area of mental health with all relevant information on the topic.
In the context of the current pandemic situation brought about by COVID-19, this tool aims to facilitate access to relevant information about the available resources and the organization of the Mental Health Services section of the National Health Service to respond to citizens’ needs.
On this website page you can find the contact details of the services available for each region. There is also telephone support for structures and bodies external to the National Health Service, such as municipalities, social security, nursing homes, long-term care or regional support structures for victims of domestic violence.
In addition to the questions and answers related to mental health, the online page dedicates an area to health professionals, with strategies for maintaining well-being at a time when they may be feeling overwhelmed, or that they are not doing everything they should be doing, or doing it well enough; or are simply exhausted.
