A goldsmith shop in the centre of the village of Ponte de Lima was the target of an attempted assault late 0n 3rd February using firearms and what appears to be a sledge hammer.
The assailants’ action was recorded on video surveillance cameras, which show five hooded individuals firing with an automatic assault rife to try to enter the establishment, located in Largo de Camões.
In addition to firing at the jewellery showcase, the individuals also resorted to the use of a sledgehammer, but were unable to steal anything and immediately fled in two light cars.
