Testing will be available in Lisbon and Porto for
Madeira-bound passengers

Pedro Ramos, the Madeira Health and Civil Protection Secretary, confirmed the Madeira Regional Government will sign a deal with a public laboratory in Lisbon, so that passengers flying to Madeira can be tested before the flight. Testing
will also be available for passengers flying from Porto. Each test will cost about €50 and will be paid for by the Madeira Regional Government. Ideally, all passengers would be tested before flying to Madeira. However, this idea is not
accepted by many governments and airlines, which means that the Madeira Regional Government has set up testing on arrival, to give tourism and the economy a chance to recover while reducing the risk of Covid-19 contagion to Madeira’s
residents.

electricity bills, booking medical appointments at the local health centre, buying groceries and medication, were dealt with by other municipal services.
