If you want to press charges against those who have contracted marriage or promoted for conditions to that effect, with the sole purpose of providing or obtaining a visa or a residence permit or to acquire the Portuguese nationality in this way.
Article 186 of Law 23/2007 of 4 July – Immigration Law
1 – Those who marry for the sole purpose of obtaining or had provided to obtain a visa or residence permit or defraud the current legislation regarding the acquisition of nationality, is punished with imprisonment from one to four years.
2 – Who, repeatedly or organized, promoted or created conditions for the acts of the preceding paragraph shall be punished with imprisonment from two to five years.
3 – An attempt is punishable.
